Camden schools will share $1.1 million in grants to help English learners and struggling students
The Camden Education Fund has awarded $1.1 million in grants to five high schools to support students learning English and those with disabilities. The Supporting All Learners grant program—the largest in the fund’s history—will initially assist 400 students across Camden High, Eastside High, Camden Prep High, Mastery High, and Camden Academy Charter.
“If we are going to create a brighter future and achieve true educational equity for Camden, we must make sure ALL of our students have access to great teachers, curriculum, and resources,” said CEO Giana Campbell.
The grants, ranging from $190,000 to $250,000, will fund reading interventions, multilingual learning programs, and workforce training for students with disabilities. Camden Superintendent Katrina McCombs praised the initiative, stating it “will go a long way in helping them overcome challenges and thrive.”
