We believe that public schools do best when educators have the power to make decisions that meet the diverse needs of their students, when families are provided with information to make decisions for their children, and when schools are held accountable for helping all students succeed.
We provide grant funding in support of the following types of organizations in partner cities
We support high-quality and innovative schools that have a stable non-profit governing structure.
From District Innovation Schools in Indianapolis, to charter schools in Washington D.C., to hybrid charter-district Renaissance Schools in Camden, we support school leaders across the country working to provide great opportunities for students and families.
We support civic leaders and non-profit organizations who are building innovative public education systems in their cities.
Whether it’s investing in a local superintendent, a research university, or a parent-led community organization, we believe it’s crucial that local leaders come together to find the right solutions for their community.
We support organizations devoted to training and supporting the next wave of high quality teachers and school leaders.
From school based teacher residency programs to partnerships with local universities, we support institutions who ensure cities have the great educators they need to thrive.
Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion:
We believe that the work in cities will only succeed if it is led by leaders who reflect the students and families they serve. We are investing in diverse leaders to increase the number of Black and LatinX leaders who hold roles as superintendents, non-profit executives, and other city level roles.
