High-quality public charter school breaks ground in West Nashville

Tennessee’s best elementary school, according to U.S. News and World Report, is opening a second campus with the goal of fostering equity through classical education.  Nashville Classical West public charter school will begin operation in the 2023-2024 school year with some 75 kindergarten students. Every year thereafter, the school will add a grade until it eventually serves grades K-8.

“Over the next decade, our city is going to continue to grow and we think a diverse, high-performing school right in the heart of west Nashville and along Charlotte Pike is one way to make our city a more equal place,” said Nashville Classical Founder and Executive Director Charlie Friedman. “Nashville is already a great place to move to and a great place to visit. Together, we’re going to prove it’s a great place to grow up.”
