Le’Yondo Dunn stands among the 2024 Greater Philadelphia 40 Under 40 honorees, representing leaders across diverse industries who embody innovation and trailblazing excellence. A native of Louisiana, Dunn has dedicated his career to the transformative power of education. Recently appointed as CEO for YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School, Dunn is the first Black individual to hold this esteemed position. YouthBuild, founded in 1991 to address dropout rates in Philadelphia, focuses on empowering young adults through education. Under Dunn’s leadership, the school has seen its largest class enrollment and is embarking on a significant $26 million project for its new permanent home. Dunn’s previous role as principal at Simon Gratz High School, where he led an anti-gun-violence initiative, exemplifies his commitment to innovative solutions in education.
