Baton Rouge Area Foundation names education leader Chris Meyer new CEO

Chris Meyer, the founder and chief executive officer of New Schools for Baton Rouge has been selected to lead the Baton Rouge Area Foundation, the organization’s board recently announced. Meyer succeeds retiring CEO and president John G. Davies who served in the position for 33 years. In its announcement, the foundation’s board said Meyer was selected for his deep connection to the community and experience in building organizations.  

“Chris is deeply passionate about creating and strengthening opportunities for families in Baton Rouge and south Louisiana,” Jennifer Eplett Reilly, chairwoman of the foundation’s board, said. “He combines a rare blend of bold vision, entrepreneurial experience, diverse relationships, and personal authenticity.”
