Baton Rouge needs more high-quality charter options for great schools

Charter schools are helping Baton Rouge students unlock their enormous potential, regardless of their background or the obstacles they face, writes New Schools for Baton Rouge head Chris Meyer.  To support the growth of more students, he argues the city must support the opening of additional charter schools.

NSBR has supported some two dozen public charter schools serving nearly 10,000 students. These schools provide families more choice and diverse programming to meet their unique needs and at the same time provide a track record of delivering better student outcomes.
