Congresswoman Letlow speaks on Capitol Hill in support of charter schools

Louisiana Congresswoman Julia Letlow advocated for charter schools during a House committee hearing, emphasizing the need for her proposed legislation, the “Empower Charter School Educators to Lead Act.” This bill aims to allocate part of the charter schools program funding to support the application process for new charter schools nationwide. Kenneth Campbell, CEO of New Schools for Baton Rouge, lauded the bill’s potential to enhance charter school planning and provide educators with resources for creating strong schools. Letlow emphasized the importance of expanding charter schools, especially in rural areas, to improve education and provide parents with more choices.
