Founder of St. Louis charter school discusses opportunities for its students
The Leadership School, the first public charter school in St. Louis County, recently opened its doors, with a focus on developing a personalized education experience for its students. Dr. Kimberly Townsend, the school’s founder and executive director, explained in a recent interview that the school was formed in response to families’ desire for more choice.
“Most importantly, parents want a school where their children will learn and thrive and grow.” said Dr. Townsend. “The school is organized around making individual learning plans to meet the needs of every child. We’ve chosen a curriculum that will allow our teachers to really differentiate, to really cater to the differences.”
