Hoping to bolster teacher ranks, New Orleans charter school group hosting job fair

As schools in New Orleans and across the state of Louisiana have struggled to fill a growing number of open teaching positions, the greater New Orleans Collaborative of Charter Schools stepped up to address those staffing challenges.  After a two-year hiatus, the organization hosted its first in-person job fair.  Dozens of charter schools came together for the event, looking to hire new teachers, administrators, nurses and other school employees.

“It’s been really hard for all of us [schools] this year but we’re optimistic that next year we’ll be able to attract experienced people who want to do the work,” said Melanie Tennyson, CEO and school leader of International School of Louisiana.
