Local schools make strides with dedicated teachers and vast support systems

Four Baton Rouge charter schools are seeing enrollment growth and increased interest in their diverse program offerings thanks to their dedicated educators and a robust system of support to ensure all learners can access opportunity.  As a result, academic scores are increasing and family engagement is growing at GEO Next Generation High School, Helix Aviation Academy, Capitol High School, and Collegiate Baton Rouge. The growth and success came from humble beginnings for all of the schools, requiring faith and trust from students and families alike.

“These kids came when we didn’t even have a building and they bought into our vision,” GEO Next Generation High School Principal Brandon Fontenot recently told The Advocate. “They have been dedicated to seeing something through and I think that inspires the other students.”
