New Report Calls for Big Changes at Baton Rouge Schools

A new report is calling for “bold, creative, and courageous action” now in East Baton Rouge Parish public schools. The report, prepared at the direction of superintendent Sito Narcisse, made a comprehensive set of recommendations for the district including reversing enrollment declines by expanding both magnet schools and early child education and embracing charter schools.

The “transition report” calls for strengthened parent and community engagement, more proactive communications generally, and a revamped approach to external relations. The report will serve as the foundation upon which Narcisse will build the school system’s new strategic plan.
