‘RISE’ up instead of tearing down schools
Educational equity and high-quality schools are the foundation for a stronger city, argues RISE INDY President and CEO Jasmin Shaheed-Young in a recent op-ed. RISE INDY’s three-pronged approach to advocacy includes working directly in schools to recruit, train, and elect strong champions for public schools and advocating for policies that support students, families, and schools.
“And so, I ask you today, if you care about educational equity and making sure the foundation of our city is strong, ‘RISE’ up with me and get involved,” wrote Shaheed-Young. “Whatever path you choose, we’re in this together, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for a stronger city built on a foundation of great public schools for all.”
