‘We know what’s best for our children.’ These Fort Worth parents are demanding better schools

A group of parents are coming together in Fort Worth to advocate for better schools for their children–both traditional and public charter schools. The parents, part of the Powerful Parent Movement, a coalition of parent advocacy organizations in cities including San Antonio, Memphis, and Nashville, have met with district leaders and canvassed communities in the city to elevate their priorities. 

“We don’t want it to be us against the district,” group member Trenace Dorsey-Hollins said during a recent community outreach event. “We want the district to hear us as parents, know that we have opinions. We know what’s best for our children.”
